Visakhapatnam: The sea phase of Multilateral Naval Exercise (Milan 22) which is being hosted off Visakhapatnam coast by Eastern Naval Command for the first time with an aim to enhance interoperability and share best practices amongst the participating navies is scheduled to conclude on Friday.

INS Rana and INS Sukanya operating with RSS Tenacious and USNS Fitzgerald are participating in various exercises. MH 60R Helicopters of HMAS Arunta have undertaken cross deck operations from INS Shivalik during the event.

The multilateral naval exercise hosted by India made a modest beginning in the Andaman and Nicobar islands in 1995 with the participation of four littoral navies. The biennial congregation of friendly navies over the past two and a half decades has increased in magnitude with the previous edition in 2018 attended by 17 navies.
